New clip for the Snyder cut of “Justice League”: Superman in a black suit

With “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” the original director Zack Snyder released his FMOVIE planned version of “Justice League”. After a first trailer, there is now a clip with Superman (Henry Cavill) in a black suit.

On the weekend of July 24th to 26th, 2020, not only will the Comic-Con @Home take place as a replacement for the San Diego Comic-Con, there is also the JusticeCon, in which everything is about the Justice League and, above all, ” Zack Snyder’s Justice League “turns.

As part of this virtual fan fair, Zack Snyder has now shown a new clip from his version of “Justice League”. In it we see a Superman (Henry Cavill) clad in a black suit going to Batman’s butler Alfred (Jeremy Irons):

Interestingly, this is an alternative version of the scene that is already available as a bonus scene on the Blu-ray and VoD release of the theatrical version of “Justice League”.

However, there are two big differences: On the one hand, the scene has a different image format. And on the other hand, Superman is wearing his black suit here, which he also wore in the comics after he died fighting the monster Doomsday and was resurrected. The same thing happened in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Not a “real” Black Superman

In a conversation with the three moderators of the panel, Zack Snyder then revealed that the new suit is apparently not a “real” black suit either, but a retrospectively edited version.

Warner’s resistance to the idea of a dark and black-clad Superman was too great. Snyder also emphasizes here once again how much the studio put him under pressure for a funny and humorous tone, which he found completely inappropriate.

After all, Snyder also had good news: For example, he promised on the panel that he would not use a single scene for his version of “Justice League” that he did not shoot himself: “I would destroy the film. I would set it on fire before using a single image that I didn’t film myself. “

According to the current status, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is to appear in the first half of 2021 on the US streaming service HBO Max. In Germany, the Snyder cut should then be seen on Sky.
